Ranked-choice polls in Slack

Type one line, teammates rank their choices without leaving Slack, and the instant-runoff winner is posted back to the channel. One ballot per person, verified by Slack.

Free. Works in any channel or DM the app is invited to.

How it works

• Vote opens a small form: 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice… Stop after any rank.
• Results shows the current standings and elimination rounds, just to you.
• Close (poll creator only) ends voting and posts the final round-by-round result to the channel.
• /poll results and /poll close work on the latest poll in the channel; /rankedchoice is an alias for /poll.

Why ranked-choice?

With three or more options, "pick one" polls let a split vote crown an option most people did not want. Ranking fixes that: if nobody has a majority, the least-popular choice is eliminated and its votes move to each voter's next choice until someone does. How the counting works.

• Every Slack poll also has a web page with the live chart and a share link - hand it to people outside Slack.
• Free polls take up to 30 ballots. Larger votes, secret ballots, and photo options are on the site's Plus and Pro plans.
